Tommaso Marinelli
Tommaso Marinelli obtained his Dual PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and KU Leuven in 2024. He had previously obtained a M.Sc and a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2018 and 2016 respectively.
His PhD revolved around heterogeneity in the CPU cache hierarchy, integrating emerging memory technologies and employing scratchpads with smart data placement policies to improve energy consumption in edge/mobile systems. He is currently employed at imec Leuven, working at performance modeling and simulation of innovative computing systems. Some of his other research interests include high-speed and low-power electronic systems, VLSI, microelectronics and cryptography.
